Mexican actor Jorge Luke died Saturday August 4, 2012
morning at the age of 69 years of natural causes. Although but unconfirmed
sources say he died of cardiac arrest, after suffering from two weeks of deep
depression.
The prestigious Mexican actor was born in Mexico City in 1942,
had a brilliant career in film in Mexico and the United States of over 100 films,
he was also the leading man in 80 picture books, and made appearances on soap
operas and TV series and in musical theater. He is survived by his daughter
Shaula Vega.
His brilliant career started in the 1960's being the lead
singer of the band The Rippers thanks to the influence of his brother Pepe
Luke, troubadour and bolero.
Later George in the 1970's, seeking versatility in the
entertainment world he launched his career as an actor in the film industry debuting
in the film "The Garden of Aunt Isabel" and "The Gates of
Paradise "(1971). That same year, the doors of Hollywood opened with "River of Gold" (1971).
His acting career continued with such International
productions as "Nevada Smith" (1975), "The Return of a Man
Called Horse" (1976), "Sunburn", "Eagle's Wing" (1979) “Mexico
in Flames” (1981) and "Clear and present danger" with Harrison
Ford (1994).
